Today the three-dimensional printers are accessible to everyone. The ability to quickly create a prototype with very little money allows everyone to become a creator.
The dental, jewelry and film industry are a couple of branches that already have successfully used this technology.
Step by step the three-dimensional technology is gaining ground in the construction sector. The first attempts to it have already been performed. During a TEDx conference Dr. Behrokh Khoshnevis, professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Southern California presented an application of this technology that could revolutionize the field of construction.
A Dutch architect, Janjaap Ruijssenaars provides the first building produced using a 3D printer in 2014.
Advantages
-The speed (building a house of 230 m2 with a giant 3D printer takes about 20 hours).
- The in architectural forms flexibility
Can this technology overcome the architectural restrictions related to construction costs in unconventional architectural forms?
Will we be able to achieve our dream house by a mouse click?
